DDA protocol

In 2019, our females were exposed to 15 bulls for 42 days.  The average age of those bulls’ dams was 13.

We cull bad udders, attitudes and refuse to trim feet.  If an animal needs feet trimmed, we eliminate it.

We graze as many days of the year as possible with a goal of grazing year 'round.  Our cattle typically move daily to fresh grass at high stock density.  Hay is fed when necessary due to weather, strategically for range improvement or as a protein supplement.

Open heifers and bulls castrated at birth become grass fed beef.   For years, we have supplied repeat customers with grass finished animals for the grass fed beef market.

Multi sire breeding - DDA cows are run in one large mob for optimal grass management and natural selection of sires.  Breeding season lasts 42 days.  Only the fittest, most fertile bulls sire our calves.
